President's Message – December 2018

Dear IUA Members!

It’s time we say goodbye to the year 2018 that will very soon become history. Before we greet the year 2019, I would like to recall our achievements, of which many will contribute to our sustained growth.

In October, the new IUA Executive Board met in Beijing and endorsed Vascular Investigation and Therapy as an open access publication of the IUA. Vascular Investigation and Therapy covers technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in the vascular field, including prevention, diagnosis and management of the vascular-related diseases, as well as related molecular and cell biology, genetics, pathophysiology, epidemiology, interventional radiology and cardiovascular ultrasound and allied techniques.

The journal is a peer-reviewed print+online quarterly journal. Full text articles are available online at vitonline.org. It allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional/subject-based repository. Online submission is available via Editorial Manager.

In the coming year, the IUA will organize two courses for young vascular specialists (2nd IUA Endovascular Course for Young Vascular Specialists in Beijing, May 22–26; 7th IUA Course for Young Vascular Specialists in Prague, July 10–14) and two regional congresses (4th IUA Chinese Chapter Congress in Beijing, October; 24th IUA European Chapter Congress & 5th Annual Congress of the European Society for Vascular Medicine in Ljubljana, October 10–12).

Last but not least, I remind all the IUA members to visit the IUA website and renew their membership for the next year. Thank you for your contributions to the society!

Finally, I sincerely wish you happy and successful year 2019!
